Why is SEO important to your business?

First we need to understand what SEO is.

SEO stands for “Search Engine Optimisation” and it affects how you appear and rank on Google and other search engines such as Bing when certain keywords are searched. Of course there is also Google AdWords, but these come at a cost, and often local small businesses cannot afford the initial cashflow required to set up Adwords.

For example, when we search “Custom Stickers Townsville” Little Bee Marketing is the first organic result that comes up in the Google search results.

The difference this makes in your sales and internet traffic cannot be overstated, as the majority of people searching Google are active buyers looking for your  product and services. Compared to a TV ad, a Social Media ad or other marketing alternatives, SEO is simply the best way to engage actively looking clients to your business.

Think about the last time you tried looking for a Townsville plumber, more often than not you would open Google, call the first result that comes up, and if they don’t answer it’s straight onto the next one.

How does SEO work?

SEO can become complicated rather quickly, so I’ll explain it in simple terms. Google has a bot network containing millions and millions of bots that crawl websites every second of every day.

Google will eventually rank your website based on the information these bots feed back to them. These include hyperlinks, digital handshakes, images, site quality, spelling, data, keywords, blogs, locality and social media links (and much more), and all make up a part of how your SEO efforts will be ranked.

The most important thing to consider with SEO, is it’s purely organic. You don’t need to pay Google any monthly fees, or anything like pay per click campaigns (PPC). It’s driven purely as a result of quality content and dedication to your website.

If you would like to learn more about being seen on the first page of Google, we offer a free initial discovery SEO consultation. You will leave with either a wealth of knowledge to handle it yourself, or some great information to choose a local business who can assist you in getting your business where it needs to be.

I hope this has helped clear up some of the questions you may have had when it comes to your SEO.

In the meantime, keep on buzzing.
